ผีเสื้อชนิดนี้เป็นรายงานแรกของประเทศไทย ถูกค้นพบและถ่ายภาพในธรรมชาติได้ครั้งแรกโดยนาย Masakazu Hayashi ที่จังหวัดนครนายก เมื่อวันที่ 24 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2558 และได้รับการยืนยันตัวอย่างเมื่อวันที่ 1 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2560
มีลักษณะคล้ายกับผีเสื้อหนอนไม้ผลพม่า(Rapala hades) แต่ต่างกันที่ผีเสื้อหนอนไม้ผลเวียดนาม(Rapala persephone)ไม่มีหาง พบเจอได้ไม่บ่อยในป่าดิบเขา
This is the first record of this species in Thailand. It was first discovered and photographed by Masakazu Hayashi in Nakhon Nayok province on 24th December 2015 and confirmed by specimens on 1st October 2017.
It is similar to the Rapala hades, however the Rapala persephone can be distinguished by the lack of a hindwing tail. It is uncommon in montane forests.
